The Best Nightlife Areas in Karon Beach
Karon Beach is the third longest beach on the west coast of Phuket, they also have the best nightlife areas and holiday destination in Phuket. Just like the Patong Beach, they have several restaurants, bars with some girls, shopping centers, hotels and flea market mostly found in the Patak Road. Karon has always been compared to the popularity of Patong beach, but most of the reviews simply say that it is less crowded and less developed compared to Patong. However, it is also a great place for snorkeling, swimming and scuba diving (Tavner A, 2014).
Some of the best nightlife areas in Karon Beach include the Bangla Plaza bars with girls, ladyboys and some retro music. The Angus O’ Tool is an Irish Pub in Soi Centara serving several types of drinks, foods, pretty girls, music and large screen television featuring sports and movies. The Karon Plaza on Phochuan Road offers an open air restaurant, bars, massage and other services. The Anybody’s Bar is a small bar that also features a very wide TV screen with sports and movies they are just some of the popular nightlife bars in Karon Beach (Phuket.com, 2015).
From Phuket Airport to Karon Beach, taxi is the simplest and comfortable way to get there for a half hour to one hour travel. This will take only about 700 to 800 Bath. There is also minibus at the 2nd floor in Phuket Airport, this is a better choice if they come in groups or they have more packages. If they want a more private travel, they can choose the private shuttle or limousine service vehicle in Phuket Airport to Karon Beach this will cost around 850 Bath for about half an hour ride (Phuketshuttle.com, n.d).
Most of the best nightlife areas in Karon Beach open around 6:00 pm and close at midnight. Although Karon Beach is perfectly a good place to visit, especially during the summer season, but according to studies of lonely planet n, it is a risky place during the rainy season because of the rip tides. The Mail daily newspaper also has the same warning with several reports of drowning; it is not recommended to visit the beach within the months of July to October although from February to June the weather is generally good (Condron, 2009).
