The Best Night Life Areas in Lamai Beach, Koh Samui Island
Lamai Beach is another large island in Koh Samui second to Chaweng Beach, Because of their beautiful coastlines, mountains and forests; they are able to draw visitors from different parts of the world. Lamai Beach also has the best nightlife areas including Go-Go Bars, Hitech Disco and sports and entertainment activities (Brown, 2013). Even if Lamai Beach is away from the busy streets, they still have the best nightclubs and restaurants beside the beach that serve local and international dishes. They also have cultural hall and museum, built to present their local, arts and crafts (DK Publishing, 2014).
Some of the best nightlife areas in Lamai Beach include the Central Lamai Beer Bars Plaza; this has several small bars with different activities, music, food and drinks including pole dancing. The Swing Bar offers indoor and outdoor restaurant where guests can eat at the beach side or freely hang out and drink in the swinging chairs and tables outside the bar. The classy Lava Lounge has bar girls, music, drinks and western cocktails. But because of the accessibility, the nightlife in Lamai Beach is less busy and limited to those who can afford the luxury (Kosamui.com, 2015).
Going to Lamai Beach from Samui Airport, there are several taxis waiting for visitors, the fare will cost around 500 to 800 Baht depending on their negotiation. They can also flag down the taxi meter to cut down the fare of the taxi, although this will take a long negotiation process. Alternatively, visitors can take the minibus at the airport for about 100 Baht, but they will have to wait until the bus is full to travel and get there, this is basically the better option for backpackers who want to cut down their travel cost (Flashpacking4life, 2015).
The opening hours of Central Lamai Beer Bars and other best nightlife areas at the beach is usually around 6:00 to 7:00 pm and closes around 2:00 am. Although Lamai beach is generally safe, the management of the beach also provided some security advice such as when riding a scooter or walking along the beach, they must be careful with stray dogs (Rainnie, 2012), additionally, they must be aware of sandy road and always drive on the left side of the road. Do not drink and drive to avoid unnecessary accidents, especially at night.
