The Best Nightlife Areas in Bophut, Koh Samui

The Bophut, Beach in Koh Samui is also known as the Fishersman’s Village is a tranquil place perfect for relaxing with friends and family (Agar, 2004). It stands in the middle section of Big Buddha and Maenam Beach, it is also considered as one of the oldest villages in Koh Samui Island. The beauty of this place is because of their original combined French Mediterranean inspired buildings and other Chinese cultural, historical trading district is preserved for several years. They also have the best nightlife areas, although limited to restaurants, shops and boutiques (Hotels.com, 2015).

Some of the best nightlife areas in Bophut beach are also loaded with cultural diversity inclusion of the best pubs and clubs such as the Karma Sutra bar, featuring Indonesian architectural design, music and good dishes. The Billabong Surf Club with Australian style and the Emerald Irish Pub, British Swenney Todd’s Café bar and the English Pub is obviously among the Western style pubs and bars that also offer international and local drinks, good food, good views and some live music entertainment. The only thing missing on the Bophut Beach is that no Go-Go bars are available (Hotels.com, 2015).

From  Koh Samui Airport, getting to the Bophut is easy by hiring taxi will cost around 500 Baht, normally it is a fixed charge, it is up to the travelers if they can make arrangement to flag down their taxi’s rate to reduce the cost. They can also choose to take a mini bus from the airport to the entrance of the best nightlife areas in Bophut; this will only cost as little as 120 Baht. From the Fisherman’s Village entrance, they can take a bike or a jeep, although this will cost another 250 to 1000 Baht (Kohsamuilife.com, 2011).      

Most of the best nightlife areas are busy around 10:00 pm, although some may open as early as 7:00 pm and close around 2:00 pm. New visitors will find it difficult to access some of the best places on Bophut beach, where they will have to take an elephant ride or a Kayak to view the entire place. It is a good advice that visitors are prepared that most accommodations are basically expensive here; it cost between 1500 Baht to 2500 Baht. Some resorts, private pool and Spa can even cost as much as 8000 Baht (Brown, 2013).
