Statement of Purpose For PHD

Business // Statement of Purpose For PHD

Completing a PhD in Human Resource Management in your university will bring me very close to fulfilling my deep desire to become a personnel director, specifically at Aramco.

1. What do you want to major? Business Administration in Human Resources Management.

2. What made you decide to choose this major? My father was a businessman but was not sufficiently educated. He struggled hard to succeed in business, but his low level of education led him to lose everything he worked on and invested for 30 long years. His bitter failure and great anguish strongly impelled me to acquire the best education I could to achieve my greatest ambition and dream – the personnel directorship of Saudi Aramco.

3. What are your academic goals? To complete a PhD in Business Administration, specializing in Human Resource Management and perhaps supplemental courses or training that would cement my expertise in this discipline.

4. What are your career goals? There is only one and this is to be appointed personnel director of Saudi Aramco.

5. What life experiences will be an asset for pursuing your major?  I believe that I am academically prepared to embark in this higher level of learning. I got a general average of 3.83 out of 4 for my Master’s degree in Computer Sciences Information Technology at the Sacred Heart University in the USA in December 2014; 4.27 out of 5 for my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, major in Human Resources Management in February 2008 at the King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia; and a near-perfect 4.8 out of 5 general average from a two-year diploma course in computer science, specializing in technical programming at the Alalamiah Institute in Saudi Arabia in June 2004. I also trained for a month at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Human Resources Section and another month at the International Institute of Computer Science. Furthermore, I received certificates in English at the San Diego Language Center in California, USA in 2011; in intensive academic English program at the University of California in San Diego; an Information Technology certificate, a NET graduate certificate in NET Technology, WD graduate certificate in web development, and a graduate certificate in Computer Science Multimedia.

6. What academic papers, projects, or assignments that you did in the past relate to your choice of interest? “Electronic Management and the Impact on Improving the Efficiency of Workers” for my Bachelor’s degree and a website project in design-database-coding-analysis for my Master’s degree.

7. List any recent academic achievements? There is none too recent in addition to those enumerated in number 5.

8. List any recent career achievements? Those enumerated in number 5.

9. Why should you be chosen? Because I believe that I am fit and prepared to undertake this higher level of learning with my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, trainings, diplomas and certificates. In addition, I possess the right ambition and physical, mental and psychological resources to complete a doctoral degree in this field.

10. What extra aspects would you want the university/admissions to know about you? My personal and intense determination to complete this degree with the same level of excellence I already earned; my native diligence in any task I undertake; and my natural inclination to learn.

11. What experiences do you want to have at this university? The opportunities to learn beyond the curriculum, to mix with exemplary teachers and students; and to learn how to use the university’s facilities and equipment on IT craftily.

12. What are you looking forward to experiencing in USA while studying? The absorption of American values, especially diligence, personal independence and pragmatism, and a high regard for achievement and self-improvement.
