Critiquing Quantitative and Qualitative
Qualitative
The research presented a qualitative study that addresses the significance of nursing practice. This is entitled as “Family Caregivers, Patients, and Physicians: Ethical Guidance to Optimize Relationships” (Mitnick, et al., 2010). Basing from the methodological presentation, the research expounded the main subject matter of the study by utilizing the main subject matter as the basis of expounding the theorems, phenomena, and relevant facts of the study. All related information has been supported by explanations, illustrations, and examples as a way to deliver a high-performing data presentation and analysis of the research subject. The most important process of the qualitative approach is by generating a concrete research presentation through interview procedures. This is to ensure that the quality of the research will be supported by an actual subjective statement that is used as testimonial way to improve the arguments of the study. It involves further explanation and interpretation regarding testimonies that are consolidated with the theorems and phenomenon that are relevant to the research process.
As a comparison with the other article, it presents an argument regarding the significance of the subject matter relevant to the chosen field of study. There are testimonials presented by the researchers that seek to validate the argument of the main subject of the study. Researchers were able to determine the correct theorems and applications of the main subject of the study to increase the credibility of the resources. However, the difference of the research is the method of the data gathering application that reveals the format of the research study to answer the main thesis statement. This includes utilizing an exploratory research design through a random sampling method to indicate the relevance of the research process. Interview has been highlighted in the study to comprehend with the testimonials that are associated with the relevant theoretical and conceptual framework of the study.
Quantitative
The second article is all about “College Depression”, which is comparable with the study on the major depressive disorders for adolescents who happens to be college students (Cipriani, 2016). The main subject matter of the study is closely associated with the conduction of statistical evaluation in order to ensure that the data has been measured using a quantified approach. This means that the data collected from the study denotes a specific value, which is used to measure the correct number of variables in the study. The mean is categorized as a general approach that measures the relevance of the research towards the main subject study of the research. The results of the statistical equation has been analyzed and then interpreted by the researchers to estimate the relevance of the variables to the presented theoretical and conceptual framework of the study that supports the main variable.
As compared with the qualitative, this approach utilizes the impact of efficacy as well as tolerability of medications towards depressive patients as based on the statistical results. This is in contrast with the explorative analysis of the qualitative approach that only focuses on the interview as well as the subjective performance of the participants of the study to confirm the reliability of the problem. The credibility is based on the laboratory testing and analysis that are integrated with the findings of the quantitative method used in the research process. The results are one of the most significant pointers of the study that answers the main thesis statement of the study that is based from the answers taken from the statistical analysis and interpretation of data. In addition, the results of the quantitative approach confirm the hypothetical statement of the research study regarding the efficacy of medications towards patients with depressions, in particular with college students.
