Media and its role in public perception of a health care reform

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the significance of media, especially in the health care sector of our community. It seeks to find out the impacts of media in the health care systems that affect the knowledge of the community. These are the thoughts on the contribution of media that is now integrating with the health issues surrounding our community. In addition, this paper aims to promote learning insights that are now influencing the attention of the public due to the information that it provides.

Introduction

When we say media, this pertains to the knowledge that every network has been promoting for the purpose of public knowledge. The power of media can easily generate public attention due to the information that is now available for the public knowledge. Every person in our society needs media attention as a way to promote something that is valuable to our community. However, there is media presentation that is responsible of generating negative impact to our community. This is because there is some information that is causing confusion to the public, especially if the source of information is suspicious. The verification of information plays a critical role to ensure that the public needs a valuable way on enhancing a certain action to improve public safety and knowledge.

The health care sector is an important agency in our society. This is all about influencing the health of the community regarding the impacts of health threats and risks of every individual. The public need the latest events and updates regarding the health of the community, especially on influencing the most important events that generates public awareness. This is because media plays an important role for acting as a conduit between the public and the health care sector whenever there are new issues that measure the existence of a new law. This is because the public has always the right to know the truth regarding the new implementation of a provision that can change the legal status of the community that affects health services. Reforms in the health care industry significantly affect the welfare of the community. Each new law affecting health has been critical for changing the lives of the community by means of generating another beneficial outcome to the society (Sommers, 2017).

Effects of media

Public information is one of the most important effects of media and its role to the community. Each new law is obliged by the media presenters to explain what the law all about is to the society. The main reason is to let the public know regarding the influence of public media to ensure that the society will receive the best reports about a certain law. Public attention is crucial to every individual or group because it will cause a significant action or response on how to deal with a health care service to the community. The role keeps the society to know if they will either pursue with the laws that could generate a new activity or system to the whole community. This is because every individual has the right to information regarding updates that has been enacting the community to become successful and responsive.

The other effect of media is to warn the public regarding existing rules that are no longer used by the health care departments. Regularly, there are new provisions that are now creating a successful impact to the community whenever the government detected threats. This is why there are new laws that seek to protect the welfare of each individual or group from an existing health threat that is now causing a concern to the public. One example is ordering the public not to enter a certain area due to the existence of an outbreak that risks the health and welfare of the population. The media will make the latest updates about the current progress of the clearing operation of the local government units in order to ensure that the threat will be immediately addresses. The local government unit will create a health care reform regarding an existing outbreak to prevent complications (Houlton, 2012).

The role of media is to decrease the cases of mortality and morbidity rates that exist within the community. One of the main reasons is that the media has been informing the public regarding the existence of a disease that is potentially infectious. The media conducts health teaching campaign so that the community becomes aware on how they could prevent the disease from contracting them. Health teaching is important because it seeks to promote the proper process of having a new structure that let the society know a specific process of preventing a certain disease from happening. One example is how to eradicate mosquitoes that has been creating a health menace in our society. There is one thing that everyone should always apply, which is the thing about prevention that has been always better than cure.

Implication

The role of media is now important because every community has the right to know everything. The local government units have been coordinating with the health department because they want to ensure that the health of the community will not be affected by any means of threats or risks. This is the reason why the community is always informed regarding the latest updates on health care reforms. One example is when there is a new insurance reform that can now affect the elderly population through elevated benefits. This is because the legislative division is now considering more about the welfare of the elderly who are now getting lesser support from their families and the government. As a result, the local government units want to inform the public that there is a portion in our population that is now going to improve their health and longevity (Morello, 2014).
