The Best Nightlife Areas in Tomas Morato, Quezon City
Tomas Morato is named after 22 boy scouts who died in a plane crash. Today, it is also home of the finest bars, clubs, restaurants and entertainment centers in Quezon City. Food and drink lovers and even TV fans will love the nightlife in this areas, each side of the street is loaded with different establishment including Karaoke bar and comedy bar, beerhouse, discos and restaurants. It is common to see actors and actresses strolling all over the streets of Tomas Morato since they are very close with two of the biggest broadcasting networks including ABS-CBN and GMA7 (Primer.com, 2014).
Some of the best nightlife areas in Tomas Morato are the Livestock Restaurant and Bars; they have huge interior and cozy ambiance while serving the best food and drinks. They have crispy pata and freshly cooked crackling. The Laughline Comedy Bar and Zirkoh Bar is for people who want to laugh out loud while drinking and dining. The En Route Distillery is a perfect place to eat and drink, have fun with celebrities and sing Karaoke music. Tides Grill and Bistro is another home favorite to hang out with friends with their different kinds of cocktail and dishes (Zomato.com 2015).
Getting to the Tomas Morato is easy, from the South part of Metro Manila including in Airport, Ermita, Makati, etc; they can take the bus mostly in Edsa all the way to GMA Kamuning LRT Station, from there; they can take the jeepney going to Tomas Morato. In Tomas Morato they can take the left and right streets to choose among the best nightlife areas. Alternatively they can also take a taxi, but this will cost higher as much as P500 pesos although this can also be negotiated among the drivers (Directionsonweb.com, 2011).
As usual, the best nightlife areas in Quezon City; usually open as early as 6:00 pm like the Zirkoh while some closed as late as 2:00 am. Although this may sound too shallow, it is true that when visiting the Karaoke and disco bars, it is highly advised among foreigners that most Filipinos love to sing, but keep in mind that one song is strangely forbidden. Never sing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” if they cannot reach the note or be humiliated, it is also an urban legend in the bar, that My Way singers are being murdered (Brown, 2015).
