Environmental Studies // Global Warming
Introduction
Global warming is an inevitable scenario wherein the Earth’s atmosphere is gradually warming at an alarming rate. For this reason, it brings a significant effect to the health and well-being of all individuals to promote their safety and improve their welfare. Countries around the world formed several international agencies to combat climate change or global warming. Several countries also established their national agencies to cope up with the effects of climate change. For this reason, health promotion strategies are essential as a way to improve the lifestyle of the households of every community. Health promotion is also important for every household not to be stricken with the consequences of diseases brought about by the diseases that could risk the welfare and safety of the communities in the near future.
For health promotion, health care agencies around the world always ensure that health is a state of having a stable physical well being that can be achieved by utilizing the determinants of health care system to improve the health integrity of an individual. Holistic care is important for the reason that it is a medical process that will help the patient to be rehabilitated as a specific period of time. Critical care management is the process of bearing in mind the emergent care of an human being that are suffering from health care disabilities and bodily suffering due to physiological, environmental, and psychological disturbance to promote health. There are several factors of holistic therapies in critical care management that can be utilized to improve an individual’s state of well-being at a specific period of time as indicated by Hurst (2010: p. 115). These issues affects the past and present demographical profile such as on where we are located, on how old we are, and on who we are because this will be an important basis for the health care professionals to rely on with their findings in their medical professional practice.
Health Promotion Strategies
Alternative energy resources are one of the most important aspects in our society that every person must have to consider. This includes installing solar energy that effortlessly collects energy directly from the sun’s rays. The energy regulated from the rays of the sun will generate another source of energy that will be a good source of electricity. Since our society is dependent on energy, renewable energy source is important because it seeks to value the existence of alternative sources to improve our regulation of energy. The most common energy resource is about the installation of hydroelectric power plants because in every community, there are numerous rivers that could provide another energy resource to our society. If alternative energy resources will be massively installed, the risk of pollution will not be experienced by the public. Pollution can cause damages to the lungs that risk the longevity of every resident in the community while there are potential hazards brought about by the pollutants.
Another health promotion is installation of more clinics and hospitals because there are numerous communities that still remain inaccessible to health care services. Hospitals, clinics, and mobile health centers are essential to improve the health of the society and to assist individuals complicated by the harmful environmental exposure such as pollution. Enhancement of the health care system are fast becoming a sophisticated system in today’s generation for the reason that it utilizes different kinds of technical facilities that makes health care system available and accessible to the community. Holistic care is key factors that enable the system of health care to identify etiology, and symptoms accurately so that health care interventions will be delivered efficiently in a short period of time because it contains comprehensive health care strategies that are essential to improve health as indicated by Hurst (2010: p. 121)
Public funding is another health promotion strategy so that health care centers will have the ability to increase their stocks of medicines to treat patients suffering from pollutant-related diseases. As global warming continues to rise, there are several communicable and non-communicable diseases that are also on the rise. Keeping the community healthy from global warming will be efficient if there are efficient health care centers that will be funded by the government and private agencies to operate. The financial management of medical needs and supplies are mostly can be obtained in exchange of a monetary worth that will be attended by health care team members in a medical facility to boost critical care services. This is a growing need for the reason that it is a form of medical transaction that are operated by operating health care institutions for business profit taking as well as for funding all kinds of facilities that will be used for future transactions.
Research is an important health promotion activity to combat global warming related diseases. Research can be done through feasibility studies that will aim to comprehend with the needs, consequences, and beneficial impacts of promoting health. This is important for the fact that economical determinants helps to support ongoing scientific studies and researches in trying to find out new issues that will be able to find a cure to diseases that are very difficult to cure. This is a public approach by the public health in order to discover and explore new medical breakthrough to treat different kinds of diseases particularly for the newly discovered strain of pathogenic microorganisms causing different kinds of disease In this process, innovative advancement of medical technology will be funded to improve the health care system to reduce incident rates of morbidity and mortality rates in the society as claimed by Henry et al (2009: p. 42).
Education is an efficient health promotion strategy because it seeks to improve the knowledge of the society regarding the prevalence of diseases. Social awareness aims to provide structuring socialization process to promote awareness campaign to improve health promotion strategies in the long run. The community will be increasing their participation with the health care organizations and professionals if they will be informed regarding the importance of promoting their health and protecting their welfare against the threats of global warming. Health promotion through health teachings will be trying to save the patient’s life as a priority before it will be considering the patient’s socio-economic status. In the society, the lowest class in the society was usually the victims of being inflicted by mortality and morbidity rates. Ignorance is a sensitive determinant because some places around the world are poorly developed and were not regularly provided with essential health care for the treatment of their diseases as claimed by Henry, Houston, and Mooney, (2009: p. 48)
Health promotion is also efficient through regular screenings applied by health care workers. Community health care workers will manually conduct a census that will determine the incidence rate of global warming related diseases in the community. This is a consistent way of detecting individuals inflicted with several diseases across the community. House to house meetings can be a critical action that is one the most important basic need of the society because this is important for the society to become aware for their health care needs and hazards that affects health status. The health care workers will be focusing on the patient’s welfare by initially considering their vital signs because these are the most important indication of an individual’s health care integrity such as cardiac rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, temperature, and blood pressure as indicated by Bretilva (2009: p. 56).
Implication
As an implication of the study, it has learned that the effectiveness of health promotion associated with the application of global warming supports several principles and mission of health and health care system. This is for the reason that it helps to identify potential health threats and hazards against the human population within a community. Health care professionals with be able to examine the extent of past and present history of medical illness of a certain individual seeking medical attention. Determinants as well as health care approaches are essential to establish an organized structure of health care medical plan that can be applied in clinical setting such as in hospitals and in clinics for the reason that determinants are data that can be utilized as a form of evidence associated with global warming. It has been determined that the role of determinants can be considered as a form of objective data for the reason that it is a predisposing factor that can tell some significant facts regarding the relevance of the data in connection to the present medical condition of the person suffering from illness. In addition, the extent of evidences that are being gathered from an individual’s health care condition are significant in medical researches and further studies which can be beneficial to different dynamics of health care approaches according to Henry et. al (2009: p. 52).
Health promotion should be performed in a continuing process because it helps to regulate facilities and equipments that are important for the structure of health care system management to promote health. Pertaining to social determinants of health care system, social status is a dilemma where in there are scarcity of health care resources for impoverished communities that is why it is important for the public health workers to implement their mission in providing livelihood projects to improve social status according to Draper (2010: p. 84).
