Abstract
This paper aims to answer the question “identify and describe a deficiency in joint force capability set that, in your opinion, presents a significant risk for future joint force operation”. This is going to focus on the US services that will fulfill to protect and serve the US society including international communities. In addition, implications from the deficiencies will be discussed to know more about the future strategies that the US services will apply.
Introduction
It seeks to find out the reasons and impacts when countries around the world are going to rely on western states with US joint forces. As a starting point of the discussion, US joint forces is a process where a nation is going to provide a military procedure or operations whenever a certain part of a country is being threatened by a third party group such as the rebels, extremists, and armed criminal offenders. This includes the presence of a rebel group or another country’s military force that are aiming to invade another country. Establishing a joint force by the US service is an important milestone to improve the welfare of the security of the community. Whenever there is a joint sessions established by the military or any force, it brings a significant change with the community for a long term as related by Vergo (2013).
As a positive inception with the joint force capability, there is an affirmative side that is regarding western states with US joint forces. This means that we should trust some of the most powerful countries in the world because they are more capable of providing a more efficient and accurate US joint force due to their highly equipped facilities. Similar with the Western states, joint forces aims to manage a certain military conflict that will effectively create peaceful advantage that will help to promote peace and prosperity across the involved state or territory. US joint force involving powerful states is essential if the local military service have no control of power to implement or consistently provide a better US joint force to contain security problems affecting the safety of their community. The chances of eliminating the main contributors of violence, intimidation, and coercion by an extremist group will be successfully contained due to high powered military equipments as well as highly skilled military officers.
In addition with the beneficial effects of allowing powerful states to provide US joint forces is to allow other groups to learn how to protect their community. Defending the society using new tricks enables the joint forces to become productive. Having a joint force will mitigate any threat of invasion that can be eliminated because poorer countries that are exposed to violence made by extremist groups are more likely to suffer from unavoidable violence in their respective territory. They have no facilities to protect their safety and their dwelling places that are being abused by the foreign groups. This means that US joint forces are always important so that cases of mortality and injuries will be minimal. Western powers provides health care services in addition with the US joint forces because they care for the people who are exposed to extreme violence that are often developing various diseases that might end their life from an extreme safety risk event according to Vego (2013).
Deficiencies: Having a divided power is one of the main causes of deficiencies because there are other countries who do not consider the US as their partners. This has been shown by the second world nations that have opposing views with the western societies. These countries practices fascist and communist ideologies that seek to control their communities’ privileges that limit the freedom of other western nations to engage in a joint force capability. US joint forces can explicitly continue modern way of colonizing other countries against the will of the civilians. It has been a disturbing practice that is associated with the powerful nations because they can repeat previous barbaric acts that provokes abusive treatment to the local population. It has been reported from various media agencies and confirmed by government institutions that some military personnel from powerful countries have been responsible for discriminating local population.
The second deficiency is regarding a technological deficiency because there are newly invented products that are not efficient when being used by the agencies and organizations involved in a joint force capability. Newly invented facilities are yet to be tested and analyzed because not all technological facilities are accurate and efficient when being used by an operating institution. This results into accidents and failure to fulfill the goal of joint force capabilities because their facilities do not function properly during an actual exercise. Facilities play an important role for ensuring the importance of having new set of facilities to be able to manage the programs and activities of parties and agencies involved in a joint force capability. This could risk the safety and could cause injuries for any personnel who will be using faulty facilities as mentioned by Reilly (2012).
Another deficiency is when there is a shift with regards to the political system of a certain nation, affecting the relationship of the United States. Establishing a joint force capability with countries whose political system dramatically changes will concern the United States’ relationship with other countries. This means that existing joint force capability will be compromised due to these deficiencies. If a country elected a president whose political views is more on promoting nationalism and supports communism, it will gradually drift its support with the United States. This happens in some countries in Southeast Asia such as Thailand and the Philippines. Visiting Forces Agreement, which is an example of having a joint force capability, is no longer supported. This is because the leaders of these countries prefer China and Russia to provide joint military exercise and ending ties with the US. This is a serious deficiency because there is a shift with the support of former alliances with the US forces, which concerns security and safety.
Eruption of conflict is another deficiency because it significantly risks the safety and security of personnel who will be assigned to a certain area where there is a significant violent activity that are currently happening. Joint force capability deficiencies happen when a partner has agreed to participate with joint forces unexpectedly experienced a military conflict. This is for the reason that there is a group who is successfully dominating a certain community being tagged as one of the most concerning issues that the US force should consider. The intensity of violence, coercion, and intimidation is always present, which play an important role for considering the joint force to be deficient. The administrators of the US joint force will decide that this particular force will be terminated until the issue in that particular community will restore its democracy and legitimacy of its political issues according to Blair (1986).
Speaking about finances, there is a joint force deficiency when there are financial issues involved. When extracting about the perceptions of powerful country’s leaders, providing military assistance to other countries being involved in an extreme conflict could shed another financial instability. It is because it will cause a significant impact to their economical integrity because they are going to spend billions of dollars just to contain an existing conflict. There are already existing international organization that are well funded enough to provide military assistance to countries that are experiencing severe security threat. The trust between the western countries alone are even affected because some officials are fearful and hesitant to send troops that would risk time, money, energy, and lives while in the battle ground. In addition, foreign states that has been experiencing military conflicts has been already involved in local and regional conflict have the money, facility, and human resources that can managed to eliminate security risks that can restore their society’s safety and prosperity according to Reilly (2012).
Environmental hazards are also affecting a joint force capability because there are circumstances wherein the weather do not cooperate with the scheduled activity wherein there is an existing joint force that is going to happen. Circumstances such as violent weather or severe weather disturbance could bring a significant damage to the community for the reason that there is an immediate threat to all individuals and households located in the area where the disturbance is located. Geological hazards are also a threat, which could destroy the facilities of a certain agency where joint force capability is being managed and programmed. Environmental hazards are a significant threat to a certain activity, causing health and safety issues that can be compromised. Joint force capability can be either postponed or totally terminated due to the existing threat of the environment that is keeping the personnel at risk for danger.
Technological glitches are also a deficiency because the US joint forces rely heavily on computer networks. Sometimes, there is a bug that has been unnoticeably created, which could cause a significant change with the programmed activities and processes of a certain activity. These are worms, virus, and adware that could destroy the files and the system, causing a new problem resulting into a technological deficiency. Countries that are critical against the United States are also responsible for creating unwanted bugs that could destroy the system and causing the facilities to be destroyed, resulting into a deficiency. For example, North Korea, Russia, and China have been known to take advantage of this particular practice wherein there are several experts who can penetrate security networks of the organization. There are systems that are either temporarily or permanently destroyed, which could cause the agencies to purchase new systems that will prevent similar circumstances that cause deficiencies in the future as related by Robinson, et al., (2016).
As for the refutation and management of challenges, Western countries are still committed to help other nations that are suffering from an extreme security threat. It is because if there is a stubborn extremism occurring to a certain area, there will be a chance that the conflict will grow and stimulating an international concern. It is a challenge for western countries to contain a conflict that has been already affecting several countries in a certain region because it was being ignored from the past that is now causing a significant safety problem. This is why we should trust powerful western states with US joint forces because it has been always believed that participation by some of the most powerful countries can help the society to restore peace and eliminate detractors of safety and security. Powerful countries are always willing to provide any support that will promote humanitarian action for countries being bombarded by violence and extreme atrocities as related by Griffith (1998).
The foreign visionaries of powerful nations are always to preserve democracies and prosperity to other nations. It means that there should be actions that can correspond with the cooperation with other nations that can unify against troublemakers that are stipulating atrocities across the society. Even if other powerful nations are not cooperating due to their political differences, western countries are still taking a role modeling activity so that the threat of being impacted by security threats may soon be eradicated. Countries that are impacted by extreme security threats will be given another chance to rebuild their nation as well as to bring back a productive lifestyle in order to promote socio-economic development across their area. A country should always have the right to reform their own political, social, and economic integrity so that they can share new values and interests with other countries in a long-term experience.
The implication of this critical paper is about understanding about the application of joint force capability that will be applied by several US agencies. It is understandable that history can always repeat itself by allowing the emergence of extremist groups that promote the advocacy of their ancestors that creates another era of intimidation, violence, and propagating mass destruction. Other Western countries that have been always providing US joint forces to communities that were invaded by groups or countries have been successful because they always reiterate their position that they want to take defensive action against an extremist to stop illegal practices and abuse. Education is important that should be always consistently applied to every young individual so that they will learn and appreciate about the cause and impacts of atrocities that happens to each country around the world as related by Blair (1986).
Conclusion
Deficiency in a joint force capability can only happen whenever there are unavoidable circumstances that can take place within the group or institution who are linked with the US force. This involves war, intense violence, political shifts, and environmental hazards that affects a joint force capability. Another deficiency is when there are lapses with the program, affecting the activities prepared by the US joint force with other individuals or groups. As a result, the joint force capability would likely to be compromised due to the inefficient program applied to the other group as well as the activity as well. Human error can be blamed for the inability of a certain group that fails to engage in a joint force capability. The reason behind is that there are situations that the involved agencies are experiencing problems with regards to their relationships as well as their practicality whenever engaging into joint force capability. This results into misunderstanding and failure for the joint force to materialize.
