The Best Nightlife Areas in the North of Hoan Kiem Lake

The North of Hoan Kiem Lake is located in the narrow streets in the merchant’s quarter; it is part of the Old Town 36 Streets established in the late 13th century. The narrow streets are fully commercialized with different shops and different products including local jewelries, clothes, woods and plastic wares. Although this is not a very popular nightlife, it can still be considered as their best nightlife areas, most of bars, tea bars, restaurants and street food stalls is lying in the expanded streets on the North of Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Quarters (Zolo, 2010).  

The Bia Hoi Junction, for bottoms up drinking is still the most popular in Hanoi while the Water Puppet is highly entertaining cultural shows to experience the ancient art of puppetry.  The Mih’s Jazz Club is perfect for jazz music lovers while the Funky Buddha Club is perfect for backpackers and tourist if they want to meet girls and funky music (Hotels.com, 2015). There are new best nightlife areas, bars and clubs near the North of Hoan Kien Lake including the Press Club Hanoi and the Polite Bars; they offer delicious Vietnamese cuisine, cocktails and drinks.

From the Noi Bai International Airport, the majority of travelers use the available bus or taxi to drop them to the Old Quarters; this is only about $16 to 20 dollar rate for less than an hour (Vietnamonline.com, 2015). To get to the North of Hoan Kiem Lake is just a walking distance by visiting the Old 36Streets and Guilds. There is also the cyclo, three wheeled like bicycle to take them around the streets. They can also hire motorcycles available to get to the lake and view the beautiful boulevard of the North of Hoan Kiem Lake.

The Bia Hoi and the best nightlife areas opening may vary, there are bars that open as early as 5:00 pm while most of them open late at 10:00 pm. The best time to visit the North of Hoan Kiem Lake is from the months of May to September for weather is warm and nice; people can walk and relax, although for people who want a winter experience the months of November to February can be very cold and chilly (Boobbyer, 2013). Don’t forget to bring jackets and other gears and medicine for the cold.
