The Best Nightlife Areas in Railay, Krabi
Railay is a mountainous and rocky beach with gorgeous white sand and limestone, perfect for rock climbing. There are also caves and hidden lagoon connected to the Phra Nang Peninsula. During the high season only few travelers visit their beaches because of their difficulty to travel (Burke et al, 2010). Although most of their bars and clubs are made of bamboo and not as glamorous compared to neighboring beaches, they still have the most beautiful daytime sports and entertainment and the best nightlife areas that can be found by every visitor where they can enjoy, chill, party and relax.
Some of the best nightlife areas in Railay include the Lucky Restaurant & Last Bar offer live music and entertainment, occasionally during high season; they still feature Muay Thai and full moon party. Both of these clubs also offer tattoo studio and local and international menu, such as Italian or Indian dishes. The Utopia International Delight offer bamboo bar and restaurant, with delicious foods, they can enjoy eating while watching movies on a large screen for viewing pleasure. The Beach Bar offer great cocktail and they are also known for their good tasting pizza (Krabi-hotels.com, 2015).
Getting there is difficult because of the limited transportation, from Khong Kha Pier and Ao Nang, Krabi; the only option is longtail boat. During High season, longtail boats from Ao Nang and Krabi is more limited, some of them do not travel. All passengers will have to wait for about one and a half hour to fill the boat. This will take about 45 to 60 minutes for about 150 Baht. They can also a hire private boat to take them to Hat Railay East or West, this cost about 800 to 1000 Baht (Williams et al, 2014).
The best nightlife areas in Railay usually open around 8:00 to 10:00: pm while closing may vary. Before going to Railay, travelers must understand that it is basically difficult to travel to the best nightlife areas in Railay since there are no taxi, car or bus, the only available transportation is longtail boats, wide part of the beach is not recommended for swimming, because of the huge mangrove. They will also need to bring just enough cash since there is no ATM almost everywhere in this island, although there are telephones, Wi-fi or internet (Brash et al, 2014).
