Life in Discovery
What is life in discovery? I believe that life in discovery is quite plainly representing the mission and visions of a certain Institute. I believe that who we are in an institution and driving us in everything that we do is its essence. It represents or illustrates the feature that separates each one of us, and specifies the kind of values we hold precious for ourselves.
I believe that this institute devotes a lot of time and resources to research and development of the improvement of the quality of graduates it produces. I myself am a researcher for quite sometime now, and I have been gaining lots of experiences and knowledge along the way. Of course, being I doctor requires a very great deal of
intellectual dedication as well for its is a field of thinking.
Like as I have said, I am currently working as a researcher in the Center for Renewable Fuels at the University of Florida (FCRF). The FCRF is dedicated into converting biomass to chemicals like Ethanol. I am focusing my work on genetically modifying and cultivating engineered bacteria. I also analyze and study the cultures to identify quantify the presence of fermentation products such as ethanol, succinate and lactic acid. The most crucial and important task that requires the most commitment is the process of induced metabolic evolution. This requires the transfer of the bacteria to new kind of media daily, not to mention during holidays. The serial transfer select for the most efficient bacteria. Even though this research is not directly related to medicine, I believe I wanted to do the job because the research provides an indirect vehicle to a healthier lifestyle by reducing pollution all over the globe in the near future. This research has also taught me a huge amount about intellectual challenges and timeconsuming difficulties of investigation and observation. At the same time, I have reinforced myself with knowledge about important biochemical concepts. I would love to focus and improve my creativity, skills and knowledge on problem solving and discovery.
I believe that through the four distinct pillars: education, practicing clinically, research and community service, I will be living my purpose and goals in life. I also believe the Institute is going to be able support me with all that I need to know and learn in these four pillars to achieve my goals.
Life in Discovery can only be achieved through an Institute that is innovative towards the future demands of the world, an Institute that practice, teach and learn teams to interdisciplinary healthcare in order to make it beneficial for the whole patient. Institutes where researchers like myself, sweat ourselves out in order to unravel the mysteries of life through genomic and proteomic information that will enable accurate and safe medicinal actions.
This institute’s inner strength is in one with clinical care skills, which makes difference in the health and well being of those we give service to. The institute is where we give back to the community, nurturing those around us for the good of all.
For me, the highest achievements are about the development of mankind to a better world and future. After all is said and done, I want to be recognized as a man who achieved academic awards in health sciences, ready to serve the whole nation with excellence. I will consistently introduce and further widen the education of health and biomedical to improve the world knowledge to impose more creation and scientific discoveries in the future.
I will surely extend my plans beyond the country towards places where I will be able to improve the world through outstanding clinical programs and community service and towards places where I, a normal being, can make a difference. This is because I know I can, and I will make the small planet we are in a better place to live in.
