The Best Nightlife Areas in Night Market Bagan
The Night Market and Carnival in Bagan is located near the Thrabar Gate along the side of the Bu Pagoda in Bagan, it features about 80 different souvenir shops and restaurants and bars where people spend their night. There is also a night bazaar, and full of cheap food stall, snacks and drinks that are available on the streets. At the gate there is a long line of street foods that is also gaining popularity among the locals. Within the night market, they also feature a carnival ride and games that are often visited by local people (Justgola.com, 2015).
Some of the best nightlife areas and features in the Night Market in Bagan beside shopping and dining are the amazing and unique Ferris wheel within the market that is run by human and no electricity. Dangerously, they take the risk to use their body weights to move the wheel; this serves as one of their main attraction (Myanmarlocalguide.com, 2013). There are also other rides and games and other special fun filled activities for the whole family, there is an indoor stage for live concert and live entertainment held free for the audience.
Getting to the Old Bagan is basically difficult because of the lack of travel options in Myanmar, from Nyaung U Airport they can take the taxi going to the Old Bagan, however there are very limited taxis with a higher travel charge within the airport. It is also possible to reach the Old Bagan using the available bicycle or e-bikes or even horse-cart services within the airport especially for solo travelers. Alternatively, if they want to explore the beauty of the Old Bagan they can also walk from the Nyaung U Airport going to the old Bagan (Rome2rio.com, 2015).
The night market opens around 6 pm and close around 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Ferris Wheel in the Old Bagan is dangerous by using the human operator’s weights to swing the wheel can cause accidents if they can no longer hold the pressure to create imbalance. If they made the slightest move in the air, they can get stuck; they can slide or lose their breath and fall to death. It can also create an imbalance that endangers the lives of both human operators and passengers. Visitors should think twice when riding the dangerous Ferris wheel (Justgola.com, 2015).
