The Best Nightlife Areas in Victory Hill, Sihanoukville
The Victory Hill is located in the Northern part of Sihanoukville, their best nightlife areas are mostly situated along the Victory Beach. Their nightlife is less wild compared to the other beaches. There are only a few bars and restaurants in the stretch of the beach perfect for the whole family, tourists and backpackers. Most of the bars and restaurants also serve food, beer and cocktail. They feature live music, disco bar top dancing and drinks with decent bar girls. Some visitors also go the hilltop to relax and admire the views (1stoptocambodia.net, 2015).
Some of the best nightlife areas in Victory Hills included the Corner Bar, they also offer pool table and wide screen TV entertainment while eating and drinking. Another is the Airport Club, this is a premier nightclub with spacious lounge; it also has a luxurious style and interior design that is considered one of the best in Cambodia. The J-Bar is also a sports bar with TV and pool tables. The Snake Pit Bar offers the best and the finest collection of Russian Vodka, pretty dancing bar girls and featured reptile animals for added attraction (Candy Publication, 2008).
Coming from the Sihanoukville airport and Going to the Victory Hill, the best and simplest way is the taxi, this will cost around $20 US dollars; travel time will only take around 20 to 25 minutes. There is also available car rental all over town, this will also take the same cost and travel time (Rome2rio.com, 2012). Alternatively, there are also the shuttle buses at the airport, although this will only reach to the end of the national highway, travelers will have to take another ride using Tuk-tuk going to the Victory Hill and beaches.
The best nightlife areas in the Victory Hill like the J-Bar start as early as 6:00 pm and close as late as 2:00 am. There are only limited options to travel in Sihanoukville while the Association of Drivers in Sihanoukville is taking advantage to raise their price even on a short journey. They are often labeled as the Mafia in controlling the travel fares, especially among the tourists (Laurensen, 2015). It is highly advised for travelers to negotiate clearly the price of fares before taking a ride rather than shock them with the high cost of travel.
