The Best Nightlife Areas in Street 104 & Street 102 in Phnom Penh
The best nightlife areas in the street 104 and Street 102 are scattered all over their streets, they are known to have some of the most vibrant nightlife in Phnom Penh; there are several bars, clubs, disco’s for party and drinks. These streets are also popular with their good ambience, cozy sports bars and wide screen TV for entertainment with cheap food & drinks. But both 104 Street and 102 Street have become popular among local and foreign tourist because of their pretty and accommodating bar girls that are hovering all over their bars and clubs (Lonely Planet, 2010).
Some of the best nightlife areas include the Oscar’s Pub on the Street 104 is known for their live band and open mike live music and pretty bar girls. The Pickled Parrot is a 24 hour bar with sports theme, TV, pool tables and girls. The Walkabout Pubs in Street 104 is also a sports bar with lots of bar girls, wide screen TV, some live entertainment and ATM ready for customers. In the Street 102 the Valhalla is a great bar for those looking to drink, play pool or chat with lots pretty girls (Canby Publications, 2015).
Getting to the Street 104 and Street 102 has the say way, coming from the Phnom Penh Airport; a taxi is still the best way to get there. This will take around 30 to 40 minutes while this will cost around $7 US Dollars. Alternatively, there are also simple motorcycles that can be hired for solo travelers, but this can cost less than a taxi. Buses are also available going to the central market of Phnom Penh; from here they can walk for a few minutes going to the best nightlife areas in Street 104 and Street 102 (Tourismcambodia.com, 2015).
Some of the best nightlife areas in the Street 104 and 102 open as early as 5:00 pm and mostly closed late at 2:00 am. Although there are several bar girls on the streets, travelers are warned and reminded that prostitution is still illegal in Cambodia. Sex scene, flesh exposure and minors are not allowed in all clubs and bars. The of International Justice Mission with their Director Patrick Stayton and the Child Safe Program ask for travelers not to be engaged in prostitution to save the future of the children from too much sex exploitation (Johnson, 2009).
