The Best Nightlife Areas in Night Market, Siem Reap
The Angkor Night Market and Night Market in Siam Reap is located near the Sivatha Street and Sok San Road where shopping, handicrafts, silk products, novelty items and bar hopping liven up the best nightlife areas near the Night Market. Most of the bars and restaurants serve different brands of beer. Since this is a night market, it is not just pubs, bars and restaurants that serve liquor and tea, but also the small market stalls. Most of their customers are local men, expats and foreigners while decent Cambodian women visit the market, but not the bars (Tate, 2005).
Some of the best nightlife areas in the Night Market include the Island Bar & Brick House Bar. They offer beer and spirits and other related drinks, cocktails and party that highly attracts foreigners and tourists they also serve local and international foods. The Zanzy Bar is another popular among the expats with cheap beer and free pool table. It is also possible to relax with the popular Dr. Fish foot massage. They can also watch movies in the 3D movie theater just beside the Island Bar and Brick House Bar (Ray & Bloom, 2014).
Getting to the Night Market Street is easy, coming from the Siem Reap International Airport, National Highway; they can simply take a taxi going to the best nightlife areas. This will only take about 20 minutes or less and this will only cost about KHR11, 200 Cambodian Riel. Going back to the Airport, they can also take the taxi. There are also car rental available Within the Siem Reap areas, while there are also hotel packages that also include car services in their accommodation that will take the tourists to their destinations back and forth (Rome2rio.com, 2015).
The best nightlife areas like the Brick House and the Island Bar start early at 4:00 pm and close till midnight while the Night Markets starts around 6:00 pm. While it is very tempting to shop in the Night Market beside the bars, clubs and restaurant, but foreigners and visitors must also realize that the prize of their products is cheap, but inferior. They should not expect original products. Several buyers confirmed that most of the goods are imitation including Shoes, watches, T-shirts; DVD’s and even drugs and medicines can be an imitation and they should be careful (Tripadvisor.com, 2015).
