The Best Night Life Areas in Pub Street, Siem Reap
Siem Reap transform from a simple village to an international nightlife destination. The best nightlife areas in Siem Reap are mostly beer garden party experience; there are several bars and pubs all over Siem Reap, especially in the Pub Street. They are popular among the youth because of their cheap price beer, served with local cuisine. Because of their strong attraction to drinkers, the Pub Street area is closed to vehicles every evening to give way to drinkers, this street resumed at midnight. Most of the stores have a happy hour that varies according to their stores (Ray, 2010).
Some of the best nightlife areas, include, the Angkor What? Bar, featuring traveler’s graffiti all over their walls, pool table, more brands of beer that highly attract foreigners and tourists. The Asana is a unique bar because of their comfy seats, drinkers can relax and easily interact on the sofa; they will also enjoy the wooden structure and local dishes. The Easy Speaking Pub and Restaurant are highly popular among local and foreign customers with their local and international cuisine. Finally the Barrio Restaurant and Bar is known for their friendly atmosphere with Latin and French music (Cambodia-hotels.com, 2015).
Getting to the best nightlife areas in Pub Street, Siem Reap is basically straight forward; coming from Siem Reap Airport they can take a taxi directly to the Siem Reap area. This will only take about 10 minutes drive from the airport in Siem Reap while this will only cost about KHR8500 to KHR8600 KHR Cambodian Riel (Rome2rio.com, 2015). Alternatively, they can also hire a car rental service available or they can also book in advance included in their hotel services, this will basically cost less in the approximate cost packaged within the hotel.
The best nightlife areas in Pub Street, Siem Reap like the Angkor What Bar are open at 7:00 pm and close to midnight. The Cambodia US Department of State urge travelers not to travel alone and take all the necessary precaution when traveling at night in major cities of Cambodia including Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. They still have a high crime rate, including pick pockets, robberies and other street crimes. There are also criminals with guns and weapons despite the government effort to pursue peace and order; foreign visitors are some of the targets of these criminals (IBP, 2012).
