The Best Nightlife Areas in Xinyi, Taipei
The Xinyi district is becoming the undisputed capital district for disco bars and trendy dance clubs party for those who want a luxurious nightlife. It is a popular meeting place among bachelors and young professionals, expats and foreigners dancing all night long plus added drinks and sumptuous cuisine completes their night in Taipei. Most of their bars and clubs are upscale for those who have money to spend, but it is still jammed packed on the dance floor while some of them also have pole dancers and international DJ’s to heat up their extravagant nightlife (Lifestyle Asia, 2015).
Some of the best nightlife areas include the Halo and Java Dance Club, popular for their dance floor. The Brown Sugar in Songren Road is often crowded; they feature live music and jazz singers. The Marque Restaurant & Lounge on Xinyi Road is a spacious cocktail lounge and restaurant with Victorian interior, award winning bartenders and premium wines. The In-house Bar on Songren Road offer techno music and chill out sounds. The Barcode is a stylish bar visited by well known personalities, while the Carnegie Irish pub is famous among the expats with disco and DJ’s sound (Taiwan Tempo, n.d.).
Getting to the best nightlife areas in Xinyi District from the Taipei Taoyuan Airport, they can take the Line 1918 Bus going to the High Speed Rail Taipei Station; from here, then can take the train going to the Sankeng Station and explore the Xinyi District. There is also the Line 1962 Bus going to the Banciao train station, they can take the train going to Sankeng Station and walk down to the Xinyi District. Alternatively, there is also a taxi from the airport that travels directly to the Xinyi Road, although the fare cost much higher (Rome2rio.com, 2015).
Most of the best nightlife areas, bars and clubs are full around 10:00 pm while some stays open until early morning or 5:00 am (Kelly & Chow, 2014). The main issue in Taipei is their high traffic accident happening every day, according to the Department of Transportation. New visitors are warned about road safety. Accidents are mostly caused by irresponsible drivers that have no formal training. They do not pay attention to traffic laws and traffic sign; they are beating the red lights or turning without warning on major roads in Taipei (Yi & Han, 2015).
