The Best Nightlife Areas in KK Time Square
The Times Square is a newly built large commercial establishment with hotel, shopping and some bars, pubs and restaurants. The young and vibrant Time Square also has some offices and companies at day, but at night, it turns out as a party venue. It is gaining popularity because of the best nightlife areas, although there are only a few bars and clubs for locals, foreigners and backpackers in Times Square in Kota Kinabalu, there are also several nightlife that are said to encourage gay friendly atmosphere in the Time Square like the Plutonic Bar (Nomadic Boy, 2015).
Some of the best nightlife in Timesquare include, the Fire Fly, WhiteRoom and Sam Tsui, most of them have live DJ’s and bands that are attracting young customers. The Sullys Bar offers live music well loved by locals and foreigners (Malaysia, Asia 2015). Within the Time Square there are also The Vino Vino Bistro and the Firefly Bar and Grill both of them gained their popularity by serving impressive delicacies and finest selection of wines. The Jarred & Rowlins, they offer western delicacies that foreigners are looking for including sausages, hams & steaks (Leffman, & Lim, 2012).
Going to the best nightlife areas in the KK Time Square, coming from the Kota Kinabalu Airport, they can take a taxi from the departure areas of the airport will only take a few minutes travel directly to the Eastern Alliance Trading, from this point, they can simply walk down to the KK Square to look for the best nightlife areas. Alternatively, if they are not in a hurry or they simply want to get familiar within the nearby areas, walking is also possible from the airport going to the KK Time Square (Rome2rio.com, 2015).
The best nightlife areas in Time Square opening may vary, but most of them open as early as 6:00 pm and close around 11:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. During their visit to Kota Kinabalu, visitors should be warned not to go far beside the Sabah area on the island of Borneo, because of the occurrence of occasional violence mostly among the Muslim people near the border of Indonesia and Philippines. It is a zone declared by the Malaysian government that is still under dispute by the said countries (Mindanao Examiner, 2013).
