The Best Nightlife Areas Silom Road, Bangkok
Silom Road is a well known corporate ground for financial institutions, commercial complex, shopping and business district by day, but by night Silom become one of the best nightlife areas in Bangkok. It is the top destination for Western men and gays traveling in Bangkok, there are also friendly hotels that are especially suited for gays, the gay culture developed over the years within the communities concentrated in Saladaeng and nearby areas. The best nightlife areas in Silom Road offer a mix combination of A Go-Go clubs, disco bars, restaurants and sauna massage (Brown, 2013).
Some of the best nightlife areas in Silom include the DJ Station, Club Love Remix, Triple Club X, they offer live shows, and semi nude dancing men can gather large gay crowds nightly. Some of the must-visit the pubs and karaoke den in the area of soil 2 and 4 includes the Maggie Choo’s that offers artistic drinking rooms. For tourists who wants to capture the beautiful night sky, or the breathtaking Chao Praya River, the Sky bar rooftop is recommended. The Papong Road in Silom is also a popular Go-go bar for men seeking behave pretty girls (Bangkok.com, 2015).
From Bangkok Airport to Silom Road, they can hire a taxi, especially if they have more baggage and they want a more comfortable ride, although this can cause as much as 400 to 500 Baht depending on the traffic condition. Generally, the simplest way for travelers to access the Silom Road is via bus and mini bus going to victory monument, from there they can take the BTS Sky train going to the Sala Daeng Station (Hahn, 2012).
Nightlife starts around 8:00 pm and close at around 2 to 3:00 am. One word of caution, especially for gay customers, that men and gays serving their customers passionately is a shared activity not just for pleasure, but mostly for business to increase their income. Tourist may experience occasional traffic jam because of the occasional protest and rallies held that can also affect the nightlife. Singapore made a travel advisory about safety precaution while traveling in Bangkok, although the government announced that they have expanded the security coverage within the districts of Bangkok (Kit, 2013).
