The Best Night Life Areas in Pham Ngu Lao Street, Ho Chi Minh City
The Pham Ngu Lao Street belongs to the largest city of Ho Chi Minh City or formerly known as Saigon; it is one of the most highly populated city urban districts in the world. They also have the some of the best nightlife when the light of the city is turned on; this is also the favorite place of the youth, foreign visitors and backpackers. The city never sleeps because of the numerous bars and clubs, restaurants, Bia Hoi stalls and street foods all over the corners of the Pham Nng Lao Street (Travel Viet, 2012).
The Bia Hoi Bear Hoi is still famous for the best nightlife areas in the districts because of its simplicity, bottoms up and cheap brewed beer from 3,000 to 7,000 VND. There are several western style bars like the Go 2 and Crazy Buffalo open until late hour clubs. The Last Call Bar and the T&R Tavern are some of the cozy bar, offering cocktail, classic sounds and terrace drinks popular to expats and young locals. The Xu bar, Glow Nightclub and Chili Skybar are some of the most interesting nightlife for singles and foreigners (Citypassinguide.com, 2015).
Going to the Ho Chi Mihn City from Tan So Nhat Airport, the bus (number 152) is the simplest and cheapest way to Pham Ngu Lao will take around 5000 VND and another 5000 for their bags this will only take about 15 to 20 minutes. There are also taxis at the international terminal that can take passengers for 15 to 20 minutes; they must not forget to ask the driver to turn on the meter for a cheaper fare. They can also take a private car rental for almost the same price as the taxi (Nomadic Habits, 2014).
Because of the popularity of Bia Hoi, the best nightlife areas have irregular schedules in Pham Ngu Lao, there are even bars that open 24 hour like the Crazy Buffalo. Because of this schedules, visitors need to be aware of the increasing involvement of foreigners to prostitution (night butterflies) and drugs is highly illegal in Ho Chi Minh, although sex workers is almost openly operating, targeting the nightlife market. Statistics show that most of the sex workers are also drug addicts while about one third of them are positive in HIV (Khanh & Puong, 2013).
